STEUBEN COUNTY, NY. (THECOUNT) – Former Ohio State Buckeyes, Adam Bellamy, has been identified as one of four people killed in a single-vehicle crash on Oct. 12, according to reports.

Bellamy, 29, was killed along with three other victims, identified as, Korbie Higgins, 28, Coy Miner, 26, and 29-year-old, Nikki Wise, who all died in the accident near occurring near Rugby Road in Hammondsport, Steuben County, N.Y. around 1:00 a.m. on October 12.

Bellamy was a member of the 2010 Ohio State Football teams that won the Big Ten Championship and Sugar Bowl. He would later depart football in general in 2012 over “personal reasons.”

“Adam is working through some personal family matters right now and when he gets that taken care of, we will welcome him back with open arms,” Coach Vrabel said in 2012 before Bellamy’s departure was announced by a team spokesman. “We miss him in our [meeting] room and when Adam gets those things taken care of he’s going to be able to come back,” reported MyTwintiers.

Bellamy’s connection to the football team was written in his obituary published in The Plain Dealer.

Beloved son of Keith and Susan (nee Manning) Bellamy, loving brother of Megan Bellamy, cherished grandson of Mary Genna and the late Al Bellamy, William and Marilyn Manning, dear nephew of Timothy (Amy) Bellamy and Barry (Laura) Bellamy, Steve Manning, Ann (Joel) Domino and Colleen (Cameron) Brown, dearest cousin of Jacob, Hannah, Austin, Dalton and Nathan Bellamy, Grace Manning, Emily Luchkiw, Colleen Yung, Sarah Domino, Connor, Hannah and Molly Brown.

Adam was a 2009 graduate of Aurora High School and graduated from The Ohio State University where he played football for three years. In lieu of flowers the family wishes contributions be made in Adams name to any local animal shelter, reports CountOn2.

Friends will be received for a memorial gathering Friday October 18, 2019 from 4-8 PM at Parkside Church (in the Commons) 7100 Pettibone Road Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023 where a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday October 19, 2019 at 11 AM.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
