SIOUX COUNTY, ND. (THECOUNT) — Dalton Powell, of Cass City, Michigan, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday morning vehicle crash in Sioux County, North Dakota.

Powell, 20, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Selfridge Thursday morning.

According to reports, Powell was operating a vehicle on State Highway 6 near Selfridge, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 8 a.m. Thursday. The vehicle then entered a culvert and rolled over.

Powell, who was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

ND Teen Marley Ferguson ID’d As Victim In Tuesday Night Grand Forks Fatal Vehicle Crash

GRAND FORKS COUNTY, ND. (THECOUNT) — Marley Ferguson, of Grand Forks, North Dakota, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Tuesday night vehicle crash in Grand Forks County.

Ferguson, 18, was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Grand Forks Tuesday night.

According to reports, Ferguson was operating an SUV in the 600 block of 1st Avenue S in Grand Forks, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. The vehicle then came into contact with a substantial tree.

Ferguson was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

ND Woman Samantha Wilson ID’d As Suspect Arrested In Sunday Night Murder Of 15-Year-Old Boy In Northwood

NORTHWOOD, ND. (THECOUNT) — Samantha Wilson of Northwood, North Dakota, has been identified as the suspect arrested in the Sunday night murder of a teenage boy, according to Monday reports,

Wilson, 32, aka, “Samantha Jo Stokes,” was taken into custody over the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy in Northwood Sunday night.

The boy was murdered for unknown reasons in Northwood, North Dakota, located about 25 miles southwest of Grand Forks.

A murder investigation is underway the emergency called for a person shot in the chest came in just after 9:30 Sunday night, 212 Lander Avenue in Northwood.

According to Sheriff Andy Schneider, deputies responded to an individual that suffered a gunshot wound in the city at Northwood, overnight. Upon investigation, an arrest was made of 32-year-old Samantha Wilson. Since then she’s been booked into the correctional center on suspicion of murder and contact by bodily fluids on a law-enforcement officer, reports NewsBreak.

ND Woman Amelia Johnson ID’d As Victim In Fatal Thursday McKenzie County Crash

BISMARCK, ND. (THECOUNT) — Amelia Johnson, 58, of Alexander, N.D., was driving a Chevrolet Cavalier westbound on U.S. Highway 85 Thursday, when for unknown reasons, she swerved into the eastbound lanes and struck a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck head-on. She died in the crash.

The driver of the truck, 27-year-old Timothy Wolfe, was taken by ambulance to a Williston hospital with serious injuries. Both drivers were restrained by a seatbelt and airbags did deploy, according to the patrol, reports InForum.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

ND Man Chris Hageman ID’d As Victim In Tuesday Night Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash Near New Salem

NEW SALEM, ND. (THECOUNT) — Christopher Hageman has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash near New Salem on Tuesday night, according to reports.

Hageman, 26, was killed in Tuesday rollover crash near New Salem, that also injured several children and an adult woman.

Hageman was operating a Ford Explorer on County Road 139 in Morton County, when for unknown reasons, it crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 2:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Passengers, Carlie Hageman, 26, of Dickinson; and three children, ages 2, 3, 6, were taken to Sanford Hospital and CHI-St. Alexius in Bismarck. All the occupants were from Dickinson, reports JamesTownSun.

The driver was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

Carlie Hageman and 6-year-old Dayton Hook were treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. The other two children also were restrained by a seat belt or car seat and not injured.

Carlie Hageman was the only occupant who was not wearing a restraint, the Highway Patrol said.

According to social media, Hageman was a former CNA at Marion Manor Nursing Home. He attended Lincoln High School and was originally from Aneta, North Dakota. Carlie Jo Hageman was his wife, according to Facebook.

Remains Of Missing ND Woman Brenda Kartes Located In Fargo River

FARGO, ND. (THECOUNT) — The remains of missing Fargo woman, Brenda Kartes, have been located and identified, according to Fargo Police on Thursday.

The remains of Kartes, 32, were located near a river in south Fargo last week.

Fargo Police said the remains were found near the river on August 22nd in the 2100 block of 5th St. S in Fargo, which is near the Minnesota border.

Brenda’s skeletal remains were found by employees of a nearby cemetery which they say, were in plain view. Police say her death is suspicious in nature and are continuing to investigate. They say they believe there are people who have additional information on her death. They are urging anyone who knows anything in her disappearance or death to contact them, reports ValleyNewsLive.

Police say they do not have a cause of death because the medical examiner couldn’t find one.

Kartes was last seen around 1:30 p.m. on July 12, 2018, in the area around 3501 Westrac Drive in Fargo, North Dakota. There were differing accounts that indicate she may have been headed toward Lindenwood Park and/or Texas.

On the one year-anniversary of Kartes’ disappearance, her family told Valley News Live that in the days prior to her disappearance, Kartes told them she was scared. Her family said they didn’t know what was causing it, but Kartes told them she was very worried and fearful.

“She was extremely scared of something. We tried to ask more into it and she wouldn’t say anything,” Brenda’s mom, Lynn Kartes said.

Missing ND Man Fernando Balboa ID’d As Body Found Monday Night In Grand Forks

EAST GRAND FORKS, ND. (THECOUNT) — Fernando Balboa, the North Dakota man reported missing one week ago, has been identified as the body found near East Grand Forks Monday night, July 15.

Family members said last week that Balboa had health problems and was recently diagnosed with cancer. He required medication every four hours for his illnesses and that he could be in danger.

Balboa’s body has been transferred to the University of North Dakota Medical Examiner for identification and to determine the cause of death, according to police.

A cause or manner of death was not provided by officials.

Investigators searched the Grand Forks area, including along the Red River for signs of Balboa, but reissued their call for help from the public after recent storms in the Grand Forks area, reports GrandForksHerald.

Officials are expected to confirm the identity of the body Tuesday.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation.

ND Man Christopher Vickerman Arrested In Friday Minot Murder Of Father Mark

MINOT, ND. (THECOUNT) — Christopher Vickerman, of Minot, has been arrested as a suspect in the Friday murder of his father, Mark Vickerman.

Vickerman, 28, is expected to be charged with AA felony murder in connection to the Friday night shooting of his father in NW Minot.

The suspect is the son of the victim, reported KXNet.

The investigation is ongoing, according to Minot Police.

An autopsy is scheduled for the victim.

ND Chiropractor Chad Isaak Charged In Monday Mandan Quadruple Murder

Chiropractor, Chad Isaak, of Washburn, North Dakota, was arrested Thursday in connection with the killings of four people found dead on Monday at a Mandan business.

Police arrested Isaak, 44, without incident on suspicion of four counts of Class AA felony murder in connection with the deaths of RJR co-owner Robert Fakler and employees Adam Fuehrer and William and Lois Cobb.

“The victims suffered stab wounds and/or gunshot wounds,” officials said.

Police identified a suspect vehicle through surveillance video, leading to a traffic stop where McLean County deputies detained Isaak.

Officials said evidence in the vehicle and on Isaak provided probable cause for Isaak’s arrest.

Isaak is being housed in the McLean County Jail. It was unclear when formal charges would be filed or Isaak would make a court appearance, reports BismarckTribune.

North Dakota court records do not show a criminal history for Isaak.

Officials said police are not seeking other suspects.

Isaak opened Isaak Chiropractic Of Washburn, on Main Avenue, in Washburn, ND, in 2006.

Officials said they could not offer a time frame for the homicides as police have not received the medical examiner’s report.

ND Man Virgil Nogowski ID’d As Highway Worker Struck In Fatal Rutland Minivan Collision

RUTLAND, ND. (THECOUNT) — Virgil Nogowski, of Gwinner, North Dakota, has been identified as the county highway worker killed after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday.

Nogowski, 60, was working as part of a county highway crew when he struck and killed near Rutland by a minivan along Sargent County Road 10. Crews were reportedly placing warning signs along the shoulder when the fatal collision occurred.

Authorities say a Britton, South Dakota woman swerved to avoid the crew’s pickup truck and veered into the ditch. She was not hurt, reports DothanEagle.
