WATERLOO, IA. (THECOUNT) — Matt Baish has been identified as the Iowa teacher placed on administrative leave after posting to social media what appeared to many as a veiled shooting threat against teen climate activist, Greta Thunberg.

Baish, 52, was named by the school district as the high school teacher believed to have placed a shooting related comment on a social media post that referenced Thunberg’s Iowa visit Friday.

“dont (sic) have my sniper rifle” Baish said referencing an Iowa City visit from the teen on Friday.

Students and school staff were alerted to the the educator’s post via the following message:

“We wanted to make you aware of a social media situation involving one of our employees. The nature of the content shared rose to the level of putting this employee on administrative leave pending an investigation. We appreciate your patience as we sort through the details and thank you for respecting the process,” reports KTTC.

No other details were immediately provided by school officials.
