TUOLUMNE COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Two bodies found in Tuolumne County near a car have been linked to an Amber Alert issued over the weekend concerning Steven Weir, 32, and his 2-year-old son John Weir.
A red 2005 Hyundai Elantra was located Sunday in a remote area near Sand Flat Campground, in Arnold, Tuolumne County, CA, according to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office. Two bodies were also reportedly discovered.

The identification of the people found is not known at this time, the sheriff’s office said.
The Amber Alert was issued Saturday morning by the California Highway Patrol on behalf of the Merced County Sheriff’s Department. Authorities were searching for Steven Weir, 32, and his 2-year-old son John Weir, reports KCRA on Monday.
Authorities had said Steven Weir was considered armed and dangerous.
The Amber Alert has been deactivated, CHP said.
