LOS ANGELES, CA. (THECOUNT) — Celebrity chef Carl Ruiz has died, TMZ is reporting Sunday.
According to his closest friends, the 44-year-old Food Network star reportedly passed away Saturday night of a suspected heart attack, so says his pal and social media personality, Matt Farah. Matt also said Carl died peacefully in his sleep.

Guy Fieri also commented on Carl’s death, writing on Twitter … “I’m heartbroken that my friend chef Carl Ruiz is gone. I have no words to describe what a great friend he was to me and my family. His ability to make me laugh and smile under any circumstances was only outshined by his talent as a chef,” reports TMZ.
A cause of death was not immediately provided by officials.
