SUPERIOR, MT. (THECOUNT) — Montana man, Curt Brockway, is under arrest after being accused of assaulting a teenage boy during the national anthem at the Mineral County Fairgrounds this weekend, in Superior, Montana.

Brockway, 39, grabbed Megan Keeler‘s 13-year-old son, and without warning, picked him up and performed a piledriver, fracturing the boy’s skull, all because the lad did not remove his hat during the national anthem.

Witnesses say Brockway tried to justify his actions because the boy was disrespecting the flag by not removing his hat during the national anthem, according to MyFox8.

“Dude come up and grabbed him by his neck, picked him up and threw him to the ground head first,” a witness told local media outlets.

“There was no exchange – nothing! He targeted Wally and took him down,” the boy’s mom said.

The force of the attack caused the boy to suffering bleeding from his ear for nearly six hours after the incident.

The boy was flown to Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital in Spokane after receiving temporal skull fractures.

He’s since been released from the hospital and is back home where he will continue healing.

Brockway arrested and made his initial court appearance on Monday in Mineral County.

The state requested that Brockway’s bond be set to $100,000, but a judge ruled that Brockway can be released on his own recognizance.
