GRAND BAY, AL. (THECOUNT) — David Earl Brannon, of Elberta, Alabama, has been identified as the victim in a single-vehicle crash in Grand Bay early Tuesday morning.

Brannon, 52, was operating a vehicle around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 90 near Louie Tillman Road, in Grand Bay, AL, when for unknown reasons, exited the roadway and struck a tree.

Brannon was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the crash.

He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, according to a crash report.

It happened around 1:45 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 90 and Louie Tillman Road. Officials say the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, ran off the road and into a tree. The driver has been identified as 52-year-old David Earl Brannon of Elberta. Officials had closed a section of Highway 90 while they investigated and cleaned up the area.
