Police were able to establish Damron’s identity with the help of family members who had reported him missing earlier in the day.
Damron’s cause of death is unknown.
The coroner’s office says a toxicology report will be made available at a later date.
According to his Facebook page, Damron was originally from Detroit, Michigan. He attended Monroe Trojan Athletics high school, according to social media.
Friends and family took to social media saying they were hopeful for Damron’s safe return, but that was not to be after the young man was later located dead:
“It’s the nightmare all over again except this time I’m not ever going to see you again. All my life I have searched for you our brothers our family. I finally after 20+ years get you back just to see you go so fast.”
