The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office released Friday the cause of death for a 19-year-old girl found dead in a Rosemont hotel freezer last month.
Kenneka “Ken’neka” Jenkins died of the following, according to the autopsy report:

Mucosal erosions in the stomach, known as ” Wischnevsky’s lesions,” which are indicative of hypothermia; The brain was edematous, or swollen, which is not indicative of a specific cause of death; An abrasion on her right ankle and a purple contusion on her right leg; There was no other evidence of external or internal trauma.
No evidence of “date rape drugs” were found after a toxicology report was ordered, officials said.
The death was ruled an accident.
Police said the Crowne Plaza hotel has been “extremely cooperative” and has provided all video surveillance along with employee rosters. Family members of Jenkins and the community activist Holmes had implied at an earlier press conference that the hotel was withholding some security footage.
The hotel has offered to cover Jenkins’ funeral costs.
