Missouri Governor Jay Nixon is joined by St. Louis Board of Alderman Antonio French (L) ) to announce $500,000 will be funded to expand access to math and science tutoring and enrichment programs to an additional 350 students from low-income families in St. Louis, during a press conference at the University of Missouri -St. Louis in St. Louis on October 2, 2014. The in-school and after-school tutoring services will be provided through a new partnership between the College of Education at the University of Missouri and The North Campus, an organization founded by Alderman French to provide targeted, intensive educational supports to help lift students and their families out of poverty.
