Since the death of Jett Travolta, parents Kelly Preston and John Travolta have kept their grief and emotions private. In the fall Kelly Preston is preparing to speak for the first time about the tragic death of her 16-year-old son.
Kelly is set to give a speech in October at the California Governor’s Conference for Women in a ‘Grief & Resilience’ panel. Maria Shriver, who’s hosting the event, says that if Kelly “can empower one other woman who feels like they can’t get out of bed, or get through the day, whatever the loss, it’ll be worthwhile sharing her story.”
This will be a speech you most definitely will not want to miss.
Michael Jackson’s sister Janet Jackson attended tonight’s BET Awards along with her father Joe Jackson. Janet speaks to the fans very seriously about Michael’s death.
Janet says:
“My entire family wanted to be here tonight but it was just too painful, so they elected me to speak to all of you. I’m going to keep it very short. To you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family. And he will forever live in all of our hearts. On behalf of my family, and myself, thank you for all of your love. Thank you for all of your support. We miss him so much. Thank you so much.”
Kate Winslet, who won 2 Golden Globe awards for “Best Actress” Sunday night, forgot a big somebody’s name in her speech!
Kate took her first Globe Award for her acting in Revolutionary Road.
For her second Globe Award, she nicely apologized to the other actresses for her win. “I’m so sorry Anne, Meryl, Kristin – and who’s the other one?”
“The Sun” UK caught up with Kate before her departure out of L.A. On camera, they asked Kate why she forgot Angelina’s name in her Globe speech. The Sun reported this:
“Asked about the incident as she prepared to fly home, Kate tapped her head and replied: “My mind went so blank. It was such an amazing moment.”"
