7 Shot, 4 Dead In NC Mass Shooting Victims Include 5 Asheville Students

Erica Nichelle Smith has been named as the adult victim in a shooting that took the lives of four people in West Asheville Wednesday night.

Smith, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene, along with two students. The victims include students from Isaac Dickson Elementary SchoolAsheville Middle SchoolAsheville High School, and Asheville Middle School.

Police identified, Maurice Laron Garner, saying he shot seven people, three of which passed away. Garner shot himself and was later pronounced dead at an area hospital. Continue reading

WI Coroner IDs Woman Found Dead Near Milwaukee Art Museum “Hit-And-Run?”

Lane Elizabeth Kerpan, of Gurnee, Illinois, has been identified as the woman whose body was found near the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Police now say, Kerpan, 25, was likely hit by a car in a possible hit-and-run, according to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office.

A passing driver spotted  Kerpan along Lincoln Memorial Drive around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. At the time, investigators did not know exactly how she died. On Thursday morning, authorities revealed findings of Kerpan’s autopsy. The medical examiner said the autopsy revealed significant internal injuries consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle. UT Husband Celebrating Wife’s B-Day Dies While Attempting To Shoot Flaming Arrow Through Paper Heart In Circleville Canyon

Dee Jessop was identified as the Utah man who died while celebrating his wife’s birthday.

Jessop, 51, was tragically killed Saturday after climbing up a cliff while visiting Circleville Canyon, Utah, to shoot a celebratory arrow and instead slipping and falling 60 feet to his death.

Police say the man, 51-year-old Dee Jessop, was attempting to climb up a cliff and use his bow to shoot a lighted arrow into a painted heart when he slipped. Investigators say he fell about 60 feet. Continue reading

Female Suspect In NC Box Cutter Slashing Of Man Riding GoDurham Bus Arrested

Naisha Moena Bowser, the suspect in a box cutter slashing of a man traveling on a GoDurham bus, has been apprehended, say Durham Police.

Bowser, 21, of Durham, is accused of slashing a man’s neck during a dispute on a GoDurham bus on March 15.

Bowser is charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault on a public transit operator and injury to property. Police said the incident happened around 5:30 p.m. March 15 when a female passenger became angry and threw a soda bottle through a windshield, according to witnesses. Continue reading

Family Pictures VA Teen Found Dead In Wooded Area Of Chesterfield Ettrick

The body of Biniyam J. Eddington was found in a wooded area off Chesterfield Avenue, Ettrick, VA., on Saturday night, authorities said in a report. He was 19.

Eddington’s cause of death has not yet been determined, however, according to investigators, they found no signs of foul play.

“Biniyam, was a beloved son, brother, nephew, grandchild, cousin and friend,” his obituary read. “Biniyam faced diversity and challenges in his young life, but his love and infectious smile will remain pure.” Continue reading

MO Man Aaron Monroe Charged In Columbia Death Of Michele Groves

In a sad update, Michele Groves, the woman who was involved in a Columbia motorcycle crash Saturday night, has died.

According to public court records, Aaron Monroe, 38, was charged on Tuesday in Groves’ death and his bond was set at $250,000.

Police said when they made contact with Monroe on the night of the crash, he smelled like alcohol. Officers also said Monroe’s eyes were bloodshot and watery. According to the probable cause statement, Monroe admitted to drinking alcohol. Police said on Monday they were able to confirm that the woman who was also on the motorcycle had died from her injuries.

Alabama State Police have named Angel Janea Nicole Warner, as the woman killed in a three-vehicle crash at 9:45 p.m., April 14, 2018. The incident injured another person.

Officials say 23-year-old Warner of Semmes was a passenger in a 2005 Ford driven by Terrance Waters of Mobile.

The 2005 Ford struck the bridge on Interstate 10 westbound at the 29.5 mile marker, about 5.5 miles west of Daphne and came to rest in the roadway. Warner was injured and later died when shortly afterward, a 2013 Toyota driven by Jack A. Monte of Daphne struck the 2005 Ford while disabled in the roadway. Warner was using a seat belt. Monte was injured and transported to USA Medical Center for treatment. A 2000 Peterbuilt [sic] truck, driven by Juan Garcia of Sarasota, Florida struck the side of the 2013 Toyota as it came to rest in the road. Continue reading

(Baby Update) AZ Boyfriend Arrested In Murder Of Pregnant Phoenix Woman Chelsee Dennis

Phoenix police have arrested Dwight Miles, 36, in the April 17, shooting death of his pregnant girlfriend, Chelsee Dennis. She was 29.

The pregnant woman was found slumped over the wheel of her vehicle just before 2 p.m. near 7th Street and Northern, according to police. in north Phoenix.

Dennis’ baby was delivered at the hospital. As of Wednesday morning, police said the newborn was unstable and in critical condition. Continue reading

Summit Christian Academy has released a statement on the passing of student, Alec Rush.

Rush, 20, was killed after crashing into a deer then head-on into another driver Monday night.

It happened along MO-291 just north of Kidwell Road at approximately 8:22 p.m.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol online crash report says Alec Rush struck a deer in the southbound lanes then crossed over the center line and hit a car heading north head on. Emergency crews took Rush to the hospital, but he died from his injuries just before 6 a.m. Tuesday. Continue reading

GA Cops Identify Suspect Fatally Shot Inside Douglas County Sheriff’s Office

Justin Oakes has been named as the man fatally shot inside the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office early Wednesday morning.

Oakes, 32, reportedly stabbed a deputy before being fatally shot.

Police say a man, later identified as 32 year-old Justin Oakes, walked into the facility around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night and was seeking shelter. A couple of hours later, around 2:15 a.m. the man called 911 from the bathroom of the facility and claimed he had been poisoned. Oakes, who was armed with a knife, barricaded himself inside the restroom in the main lobby of the building. Two deputies were able to push their way into the bathroom. When the deputies saw Oakes was armed, they attempted to subdue him by deploying a Taser gun but were unsuccessful. Continue reading
