WENTZVILLE, MO. (THECOUNT) — Felicity Noelle Karam, of Wentzville, Missouri, has been named as as the little girl tragically struck and killed by an ice cream truck Sunday afternoon.
Karam, 2, was with a group of people standing in front of her home near the intersection of Rocky Mound Drive and Summer Rain Drive in Wentzville when the tragic accident occurred.
Wentzville Police Officer Jacob Schmidt said Felicity stepped in front of the vehicle just as it began accelerating. CPR was started instantly but Felicity was pronounced dead at the hospital.
“She was very spunky, always had a smile on her face,” Felicity’s aunt, Rachel Zeik, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “She was unique. She was very independent.” Continue reading
PENDER COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT Via ABC11) — Hurricane Florence may have left North Carolina behind, but the flooding will last for days to come. Drone footage taken by the North Carolina Division of Aviation demonstrates just that, as Interstate-40 is completely underwater.
“This is not a river…this is Interstate 40,” the North Carolina Department of Transportation wrote while sharing the video, adding that it illustrates how unsafe travel in the area is during the floods.
The footage was taken around Mile Marker 387 in Pender County on Monday as part of the state’s assessment of the damage. Continue reading
AMES, IA. (THECOUNT) — The body of standout ISU golfer, Celia Barquin Arozamena, was discovered at Coldwater Golf Links, located at, South Grand Avenue in Ames, Iowa, around 10:30 a.m. Monday.
Arozamena, 22, a golfer with Iowa State University, was found murdered at the links after a person noticed her golf bag standing alone on the course during a welfare check.
Collin Daniel Richards, 22, was taken in custody and later named as her accused killer.
Richards is being charged with Murder in the First degree, a Class “A” Felony. A motive in the killing was not immediately provided.

LEXINGTON, KY (THECOUNT) — The young boy struck by a vehicle driven by University of Kentucky student, Jacob Heil, has died in an area hospital, say family members.
4-year-old Marco Lee Shemwell, who was hurt in an alleged DUI crash, has died from his injuries, according to a statement on behalf of the family.
The University of Kentucky released the statement on behalf of the Shemwell family Monday evening. It said that 4-year-old Marco Lee Shemwell died Monday afternoon at UK HealthCare’s Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Continue reading
YORK, PA. (THECOUNT) — Walter W. Wolford, of Hagerstown, Maryland, has been identified as the man facing York County charges after police say he was observed leading his wife around the York Fair on a leash.
Wolford, 66, was leading his wife around using a dog leash that was connected to her neck while visiting the York Fair. Witnesses said they saw him yank the strap resulting in red marks on the woman’s neck.
After detained by police, Wolford maintained he only gently tugged on the leash, telling investigators he only used it to keep his wife, as she suffers from late-stage dementia. Adding his wife had a knack of getting lost.
West Manheim Township police filed the charge against 66-year-old Walter W. Wolford, of Hagerstown, on Saturday, saying he had his wife, Catherine, attached to an 8-inch long red nylon dog leash and yanked the leash, causing her head to jerk back, resulting in red marks around her throat. PALM COAST, FL. (THECOUNT) — The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is working to identify a woman who is pictured reaching into a large bale of marijuana in the area of Flagler Beach. The woman later made off with her bounty.
The wayward weed washed ashore in Flagler County when an unknown bikini clad woman can be seen reaching into the large black cellophane wrapped bale.

Two weeks ago, multiple packages of marijuana washed ashore at St. Johns County beaches. The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office warned citizens to not take them but to instead call their nearest law enforcement agency to have the packages seized and destroyed. Continue reading
DANVILLE, IL. (THECOUNT) — Tyrell Henderson, of Danville, has been identified as the victim of a fatal weekend shooting, said the Vermilion County Coroner.
The coroner named Henderson, 29, as the Danville man found suffering from at least one gunshot wound in the 2300 block of Cannon St, in Danville, IL, Saturday night around 8 p.m.
Henderson was pronounced dead at the scene.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA. (THECOUNT) — Weeks after losing his estranged wife, Deven Davis, to a suspected overdose, KoRn singer, Jonathan Davis, returned to the stage, but not before breaking down in front of a packed crowd during a recent San Francisco concert.
Davis, 47, and his bandmates were celebrating the 20th anniversary of KoRn’s breakthrough album Follow The Leader, when the frontman stopped mid-song, and tearful announced to the audience, “this was my wife’s favorite song.”

UNION COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Little Kaiden Lee-Welch, of North Carolina, has been identified as the latest victim of hurricane Florence.
The body 1-year-old Lee-Welch was located after being tragically swept away by flood waters in North Carolina after the boy’s mother lost her grip on him Monday.
Union County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tony Underwood said a woman and her child were on their way to visit relatives when she drove past some barricades on Highway 218 in northern Union County. The woman later told authorities someone had pushed the barricades to the side a little, making her think it was OK to go through. Continue reading
CASCADE TOWNSHIP, MI. (THECOUNT) — Michael Wilberding has been identified as the Greenville man killed following a motorcycle crash Monday morning.
Wilberding, 58, was traveling on a motorcycle in the 5000 block of Kraft Ave SE, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, when he collided head-on with a vehicle driven by an unidentified 48-year-old woman from Greenville.
The crash happened in the 5000 block of Kraft Avenue SE just after 7:00 a.m. The Kent County Sheriff says that Michael Wilberding, 58, was heading south on Kraft on his motorcycle when he was hit head-on by a northbound vehicle. Continue reading
