Oakland’s police chief, Sean Whent, has resigned after coming under-fire for a sex scandal involving teenage prostitute, Celeste Guap.

Guap, 18, claims to have had relations with several dozen cops from multiple departments, some who she says hired her before she turned 18.

Guap also stated that two Oakland officers provided her confidential police information, including tips on scheduled anti-prostitution stings, and a retired OPD captain in his 80s paid $250 to have sex with her in a dingy San Pablo Avenue motel.

She said that she didn’t lie to the officers about her age. “A lot knew I was underage because they nicknamed me ‘juve,’ which is short for juvenile,” she told the East Bay Times. Guap said that in addition to having sex with 14 Oakland cops, she also slept with officers from surrounding departments in Richmond, Alamdea, Livermore and Stockton. h/t defund

Guap said she began working as a prostitute at age 12.

In perhaps the most surprising allegation — one that might help explain Whent’s sudden dismissal as chief — Guap said she also talked via Facebook last June to his wife, Julia Whent.

Julia Whent, she said, knew “I was dating an officer” but never asked if Guap was underage.
