COLUMBUS, OH. (THECOUNT)Ronald Strader, 54, of Columbus, Ohio, was killed Friday evening when a Harley Davidson Road Glide motorcycle crash involving a Jeep occurred on Demorest Road in southwest Columbus, according to police.

According to authorities, Strader was riding his motorcycle southbound on Demorest Road toward Alkire Road when a Jeep traveling in the opposite direction attempted to turn left.

Police said the Jeep struck the motorcycle during the turn, throwing Strader from the bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep and a passenger in the vehicle were not injured in the collision.

The Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit is handling the investigation. Authorities have not released additional information regarding the circumstances that led to the Jeep’s left turn or the events immediately preceding the collision.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information that could assist the investigation to contact the Accident Investigation Unit at 614-645-4767.
