FORT WORTH, TX. (THECOUNT) — An adult woman was killed and two young children were transported to a hospital following a single-vehicle crash early Monday morning in Fort Worth, Texas.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:33 a.m. in the 13300 block of North Freeway, according to Fort Worth police.

Investigators say the woman was operating a silver Buick when the vehicle swerved off the roadway and entered a grassy median.

Police reported that the vehicle continued traveling north through the median area before reaching a bridge near Westport Parkway.

According to authorities, the Buick went over a wall on the parkway and fell onto the roadway below, where it then crashed into another wall.

The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding officials. Her identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

An infant and a toddler who were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released information regarding their conditions.

Officials also stated that the relationship between the deceased woman and the two children has not yet been confirmed.

The crash occurred along a stretch of the North Freeway corridor in far north Fort Worth, an area that includes access roads, overpasses, and elevated roadway sections near Westport Parkway.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding potential contributing factors, including speed, impairment, or roadway conditions at the time of the crash.

The Fort Worth Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
