‘Multiple Injured’ DFW Police MedStar Units Arriving To West Freeway Church Of Christ Sunday

FORT WORTH, TX. (THECOUNT) — Multiple White Settlement PD and Fort Worth PD, FD, and MedStar units are investigating an incident at a church in the 1900 block of S Las Vegas Trail Sunday.

The church at that location is the West Freeway Church Of Christ.

Multiple patients have been injured. MedStar sending multiple ambulances to the scene. Reports indicate at least three injured, all seriously, reports DFWScanner.

Fort Worth FD has dispatched an “active threat” response to the scene.

Atatiana Jefferson Father Marquis Jefferson Dies

FORT WORTH, TX. (THECOUNT) — Marquis Jefferson, the father of Atatiana Jefferson — the 28-year-old woman who was shot and killed by a Fort Worth police officer last month — has died, sources told DFWCBS.

Sources say Saturday evening that Jefferson died just short of a month after his daughter’s death.

The father recently forced a stoppage of his daughter’s funeral and burial, according to Friday reports.

“The Fort Worth mayor and interim police chief said they will attend Jefferson’s funeral tomorrow even though Atatiana’s body may not actually be present.

A family disagreement came to a head today when a judge granted Jefferson’s father a temporary restraining order to stop her wake Friday night and funeral Saturday. However, Saturday’s service will go on at 2 p.m. as scheduled, but without Jefferson’s body.”

Jefferson was shot and killed inside her Fort Worth home on Allen Avenue by former Fort Worth police officer Aaron Dean Oct. 12. Dean was later arrested and charged with her murder. reports DFW.CBS.

In a statement released Friday night, the family’s attorney Lee Merritt said both services will be held at the worship home of Bishop T.D. Jakes, and a eulogy will be delivered by the Reverend Al Sharpton at the funeral.

Both services will be open to the public.

TX Woman Shot Dead By DFW Police ‘Through Window’ Of Home While Responding To Saturday ‘Open Structure’ Call

FORT WORTH, TX. (THECOUNT) — The Fort Worth Police Department say one of their officers shot a woman through the window of a home while responding to an “open structure” call, according to Saturday reports.

Police say they responded to around 2:23 a.m. in the 1200 block of E. Allen Ave. after receiving a call of a front door of a residence that was open.

When officers arrived on scene, they established a perimeter around the house.

At some point, officers observed an individual standing inside the house near a window.

One of the officers then perceived what he believed was a threat and opened fire, striking the person. Upon further investigation it was determined the person shot was a woman.

Officers rendered medical aid, but she was pronounced deceased at the scene, reports DFWScanner.

Police say the deceased female lived at the residence.

Officials say a weapon was recovered from inside the house.

The age and identity of the victim has not been released at this time.

No further information was provided.

Mystery “Boom” Rocks DFW Area Residents Saturday Morning

DALLAS, TX. (THECOUNT) — Residents of northern DFW, largely in Wise and Denton counties, reported hearing a loud booming sound Saturday morning.

“We have received multiple reports of a loud boom heard across portions of northern DFW, especially in Wise and Denton counties. There is nothing noted on the USGS to indicate an earthquake, but we are checking with officials for any information.

Fort Worth TX 8-Year-Old Goes Missing Tuesday Evening While Playing With Friends

FORT WORTH, TX. (THECOUNT) — Fort Worth police are looking for a missing 8-year-old boy who was last seen around 6 p.m. Tuesday evening while playing with a family friend at a neighborhood playground near the Ladera Palms Apartments, located at, 4500 Campus Dr, Fort Worth, TX 76119

Dieudonne Babutu, just celebrated his 8th birthday August 3.

Police say they are actively searching the area of the apartment complex and playground area and don’t expect any foul play at this time.

Someone reported seeing him last in the 4500 block of Campus Drive, wearing a black-and-red t-shirt and brown shorts.

He’s 4”4″, weighs around 75 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. Babutu’s parents say he does not have any medical conditions and has never ran away from home. Continue reading

Allen TX man ARRESTED Over Christina Morris Disappearance

An Allen, Texas man was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping in connection with the disappearance of Christina Morris.

Enrique Gutierrez Arochi, 24, was arrested around 7:50 a.m. Saturday.

NASCAR Suffers Infield Suicide

FORT WORTH, Texas – A man reportedly shot himself in the head and died while camping in the infield of a Fort Worth NASCAR race..

Kirk Franklin of Saginaw died in the infield during a NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway after shooting himself in the head, said the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office on Sunday. He was 42.

Fort Worth police have said a man who was camping in the infield died of a “self-inflicted injury” after getting into an argument with other campers. The incident happened late in the Sprint Cup race. Police spokeswoman Cpl. Tracey Knight has said alcohol may have been a factor. Knight said several people witnessed the incident, but nobody was in danger. Track spokesman Mike Zizzo says the death occurred “in or around a pickup truck” in part of the infield near the middle of the backstretch.
