According to reports, the crash was reported at approximately 1:38 p.m. Wednesday on northbound I-35 near East Harry Street on the southeast side of Wichita.

Authorities said Keller was operating a 2003 Honda motorcycle northbound in the right lane of the interstate when the motorcycle traveled off the left side of the highway and struck a concrete barrier wall.

Keller, of Augusta, Kansas, was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials confirmed he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

No other vehicles were reported to have been involved in the incident. The collision was classified as a single-vehicle crash.

The crash occurred along a well-traveled section of Interstate 35 that runs concurrently with the Kansas Turnpike through Wichita. The area near East Harry Street includes multiple entrance and exit ramps that connect local surface streets with the controlled-access interstate system. The corridor serves commuter traffic within Sedgwick County as well as long-distance motorists traveling between central Kansas and neighboring states.

Interstate 35 is a primary north-south transportation route and carries a mix of passenger vehicles and commercial traffic. The Kansas Turnpike portion of the highway is a toll roadway designed for sustained highway speeds and limited access. Law enforcement agencies routinely patrol this stretch due to traffic volume and the importance of maintaining roadway safety along the corridor.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the crash was reported. The area was secured while troopers conducted an on-site investigation and documented the scene. Traffic in the northbound lanes may have experienced temporary delays as first responders worked to clear the roadway and restore normal flow.

Standard crash investigations in single-vehicle motorcycle fatalities typically include documentation of vehicle position, roadway markings, physical impact points, and other observable evidence. Authorities have not publicly released additional details regarding contributing factors.

Motorcycle riders are particularly vulnerable in highway-speed environments due to limited structural protection compared to passenger vehicles. Officials confirmed Keller was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. No further information about the sequence of events has been made available.

Following news of Keller’s death, many individuals on Facebook publicly posted tributes describing him as a “great guy.” Those posts reflect personal remembrances shared by friends and acquaintances. No official family statement had been released as of the time of this report.

The fatal crash remains under active investigation. Authorities have not announced any additional findings or determinations.

Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the appropriate authorities.
