AIKEN COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — A tragic accident on an Aiken County road claimed the life of a 28-year-old Monetta resident, Tristin Hill, as confirmed by local authorities on Friday.
The Aiken County Coroner, Darryl Ables, detailed that he was called to Wellstar MCG, a medical center, to investigate the death following an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident. The incident happened on Thursday at precisely 2:30 p.m. on Old Shoals Road in Monetta, South Carolina.

According to the investigation, Hill was behind the controls of a Bombardier quad runner, heading south on Old Shoals Road when he lost control of the vehicle. This loss of control led to him being ejected onto the roadway.
Emergency services responded swiftly, airlifting Hill to Wellstar MCG for urgent medical attention. Despite the efforts, Hill succumbed to his injuries at 5:55 p.m. on the same day.
Law enforcement was alerted at 2:41 p.m. on Thursday, with South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers arriving at the accident site on Old Shoals Road near S.C. Highway 39. At the scene, it was established that Hill was the only person on the ATV and was pronounced dead there by medical personnel.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Aiken County Coroner’s Office are jointly continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. A toxicology analysis has been ordered to determine if any substances were a factor in the accident.
