PORTLAND, OR. (THECOUNT) — Kenny L. Housman, 73, of Portland, has been identified as the victim in a fatal stabbing that occurred Tuesday after midnight. Housman’s family has been notified of his untimely death, adding to the sorrow surrounding this violent act which happened near Housman’s Powellhurst-Gilbert home.

According to reports, officers from the East Precinct responded to the intersection of Southeast 136th Avenue and Southeast Clinton Street on reports of a person stabbed. When officers arrived at the location, they found a male victim who was suffering from life-threatening injuries. Housman was transported to an area hospital where he died.

The Medical Examiner confirmed that Housman died as a result of homicide by stab wound. This grim determination has intensified the urgency of the investigation as detectives work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The individual who was initially detained at the scene has since been released from police custody. While this person has not been charged with any crime, they are reportedly cooperating with detectives to help solve the case.
