RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Jesse Ceazar Navarro, of Lake Elsinore, California, has been identified as the suspect in the Friday fatal shooting of Riverside County sheriff’s deputy, 30-year-old Darnell Calhoun.
Navarro, 42, who was later shot by a responding deputy, was hospitalized in critical condition, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

According to reports, police responded to a domestic dispute at 18590 Hilldale Lane in Lake Elsinore around 4:30 p.m. Friday. At some point after arrival, Deputy Calhoun was fatally shot.
Navarro was transported to an area hospital where he is expect to be charged in Calhoun’s murder.
Funeral services for Calhoun are pending.
Calhoun is the second Riverside County deputy to be fatally shot since late December.
