MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Carson Smith, of Goodyear, Arizona, has been identified as the 19-year-old motorcyclist killed in a suspected DUI crash early Tuesday in Maricopa County. The crash also involved another young driver who has only been identified online as “Tucker.”
Christopher Clark, 40, has been identified as the impaired driver arrested in Goodyear following the early Tuesday morning crash.

According to officials, Clark was operating a vehicle “on drugs” near Interstate 10 and Pebble Creek Parkway, when he ran a redlight and came into contact with Smith’s motorcycle and another vehicle around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Smith was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The condition of the second involved driver was not provided.
Clark suffered minor injuries in the wreck. During the investigation, officers found that Clark was under the influence of drugs. He was booked on charges including vehicular manslaughter, aggravated assault, DUI, DUI Drugs, and Reckless Driving.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
