OAKLAND COUNTY, MI. (THECOUNT) — Igor Lanis, of Walled Lake, Michigan, has been identified as the suspect shot dead by Oakland County Sheriff’s office deputies Sunday following a fatal shooting at a Walled Lake residence.

Lanis, 53, was shot dead by police after killing his wife and the family dog at their upscale Walled Lake home early Sunday morning. The couple’s 25-year-old daughter, Rachel Sabrina Lanis was also shot and suffered “super traumatic injuries.”

According to reports, police responded to a call of shots fired at 1256 Glenwood Court in Walled Lake, around 4 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived, deputies were confronted by Igor Lanis who fired a shotgun in their direction. Deputies returned fire killing the suspect.

Once inside the residence, police found Igor Landis’ wife deceased of at least four gunshot wounds. Their daughter was found attempting to escape the dwelling while suffering traumatic shotgun blast wounds to her back and legs. The family dog was also found dead of gunshot injuries.

The daughter was hospitalized in unknown but stable condition.

No officers were injured during the incident.
