MILLER COUNTY, AR. (THECOUNT) — Marolin Gardner, of Texarkana, Arkansas, has been identified as the victim in a Friday night fatal vehicle crash in Miller County. The other involved driver who was arrested for DUI, has been identified as Christopher Telles, of Texarkana, Arkansas.

Gardner, 63, was killed in a Friday night two-vehicle crash with suspected DUI driver 42-year-old Telles. A child was also seriously injured in the wreck.

According to reports, Telles was operating a pickup truck on the 2100 block of State Line Avenue in Texarkana, when he crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 11 p.m. Friday. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with Gardner’s Volkswagen passenger vehicle.

A child passenger in the Volkswagen was transported to an area hospital with severe injuries not life-threatening injuries.

Gardner was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

Telles was charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault after the two-vehicle collision, according to a TTPD report.

According to jail records, Telles is in custody at the Bi-State Detention Center on surety bonds totaling $1,250,000.
