JOHNSON COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — A mass shooting at an Indiana mall was abruptly ended by an armed civilian who neutralized the suspect.

At least four people, including the gunman were pronounced dead at the scene, and multiple others wounded at the Greenwood Park Mall.

According to Greenwood Police Chief James Ison, “a Good Samaritan with a handgun” fatally shot the gunman who was armed with a rifle and several magazines of ammunition in the Indianapolis suburb reports Gopoliceblotter.

At least 4 people are known to have been killed and multiple other individuals were injured following a shooting Sunday at the Greenwood Park Mall, in Greenwood, Indiana.

Both law enforcement officials and witnesses on the scene confirmed to FOX59 that at least 2 people were killed in the shooting inside the mall and that multiple more were injured.

The mall, located at, 1251 U.S. Hwy 31 N, in Greenwood, has a heavy police presence of both Greenwood and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers outside of the Dick’s Sporting Goods.
