GUILFORD COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Greensboro, North Carolina firefighter, Richard Murrell, and Anna Shyann Lattero, of Reidsville, have been identified as two of three victims in a Saturday fiery triple-fatal vehicle crash in Guilford County.

Murrell, 58, and 26-year-old Anna Shyann Lattero, were killed along with a 15-year-old, Saturday near Browns Summit.

According to reports, Alexio Lattero, 16, was operating a Dodge Charger on NC-61 near Turner Smith Road near Browns Summit, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes. The Dodge then came into contact with a Jeep Cherokee operated by Murrell around 5 p.m. Saturday. The vehicles then burst into flames.

The teen driver suffered “serious life-threatening injuries” and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Anna Shyann Lattero and another teen passenger of the Charger were pronounced dead at the scene.

Murrell’s wife, Tonya Renae Murrell, 50, of Reidsville, suffered “serious life-threatening injuries” and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Richard Murrell was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma and thermal injuries.

Richard Murrell was a fireman with the Greensboro Fire Department, assigned to Station 5 on Westover Terrace.

Alexio Lattero is being charged with the following:

3 counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle
Exceeding a safe speed
Driving left of center

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
