MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD. (THECOUNT) —Edwin Marcial Bonilla Sanchez, of Silver Spring, Maryland, has been identified as the victim killed in a van crash early Monday morning in Montgomery County.
Sanchez, 40, who was operating a work van, crashed and died after trying to pass a car in a no-passing zone near Fairland.

Around 1:45 a.m. on Monday, Sanchez was driving west on Fairland Road near Serpentine Way in a 2004 Chevrolet Express work van, police said in a press release. He tried to pass a 2007 Honda Accord in a no-passing zone and struck the Accord.
Sanchez’s van then struck a road sign, a curb and multiple trees before rolling over, police said. Sanchez was ejected from the van and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to bethesdamagazine.
A 37-year-old male passenger in the van was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, police said. They did not identify the passenger.
Police are investigating the crash and are asking anyone with information to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
