VERMILION PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Caroline Claire Toups, of Erath, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a two-vehicle crash in Vermilion Parish Thursday afternoon.
Toups, 17, was killed in a two-vehicle crash that critically injured another person on Thursday near Erath.

According to reports, Toups was riding as a passenger in a Cadillac CTS on Pickett Road near Louisiana 339, when the vehicle came into contact with a Dodge pickup truck around 3:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Toups was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The operator of the Cadillac was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries.
The driver of the Dodge sustained only minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
