BURLINGTON, KY. (THECOUNT) — Tara Girtley, of Walton, Kentucky, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash in Burlington County Sunday Night.
Girtley, 36, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Oakbrook Sunday night.

According to reports, Girtley was operating a Saturn Vue on Burlington Pike and Aero Parkway in Oakbrook, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 8 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle then came into contact with a utility pole.
The force of the crash caused the Saturn to literally split in half.
Half of the vehicle continued traveling onto Burlington Pike before making contact with another vehicle.
Girtley, who was ejected during the violent crash, was pronounced dead on the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
Occupants of the other involved vehicle were uninjured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
