SLIDELL, LA. (THECOUNT) — Beverly Ellen Chaignaud, of Lacombe, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Friday night crash near Slidell.
Chaignaud, 71, died in a crash involving a stalled vehicle and a big-rig on Interstate 12 in Slidell Friday night, according to reports.

According to State Police, the crash occurred after a vehicle, operated by Chaignaud, for unknown reasons, crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 8:30 p.m. Friday. The vehicle then struck a disabled vehicle parked on the side of the road.
According to state police, Chaignaud’s vehicle traveled back onto the interstate and was struck by an 18-wheeler.
Chaignaud, of 61079 Brier Lake Dr, was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries, reports NOLA.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the violent crash, according to state police.
Routine toxicology samples were taken for analysis.
The crash remains under investigation.
