According to police, Porter was riding a Kawasaki Ninja on one wheel, when a driver of a vehicle blew his horn in an effort to get him to stop. Porter ignored the horn and continued performing a wheelie.

A police officer spotted Porter and followed him through an intersection near St. Charles Rock Road and Orlando Ave. Porter then began traveling on two wheels, ran a red light and collided with a vehicle pulling out of a nearby parking lot.

Porter was ejected from the bike during the collision.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

Speed was not a factor in the crash.

The Missouri Highway patrol said the car’s driver was seriously injured and taken to the hospital, reports STLToday.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
