MAURITIUS ISLAND. (THECOUNT) — David Bauernfeind, CFO at the U.K.-based Domino’s Pizza Group, has been identified as the victim in a fatal snorkeling accident on the island of Mauritius.
Bauernfeind, 51, died on December 26 while on holiday with his family.

The CFO was vacationing with his family in Mauritius when he was involved in a snorkeling accident in a local lagoon, according to NYDailyNews.
“We are all deeply shocked and saddened by this tragic news. On behalf of our Board, our colleagues and our franchisees, we send our heartfelt sympathies to David’s wife Nicolette and daughter Ornella as well as his wider family and friends,” CEO David Wild said in a statement to Sky News.
“David was hugely liked and deeply respected for his dedication and sharp intellect amongst Domino’s colleagues. He was a force for good within the business and will be greatly missed.”
Bauernfeind joined the company, which operates separately from the Ann Arbor-based pizza chain, in 2018 after serving as the interim CFO, according to Markets Insider.
