GASTON, SC. (THECOUNT) — Jeff Coswell has been identified as the victim killed in a car accident in Gaston, South Carolina on Saturday evening, according to reports.

Coswell, 49, was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle when he died in a collision on U.S. 321 in Gaston around 7 p.m. Saturday.

The vehicle Coswell was traveling, for unknown reasons, crossed centerlines and exited the roadway.

Coswell, who was not wearing a seat belt when the collision occurred, was ejected from the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, who has not been identified, was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, reports WISTV.

Highway Patrol is investigating.
