BENTON COUNTY, MS. (THECOUNT) — The driver of a Mississippi school bus that crashed Tuesday morning in Benton County, has been identified as William “Chester” Cole.
Cole, 60, reportedly “clutched his chest,” before crossing centerlines and driving the school bus packed with children off the roadway rolling over into a culvert.

He believed to have suffered a cardiac event before the bus .
Cole was pronounced dead at the scene.
At least eight children were injured in the crash, including Cole’s granddaughter who was also a passenger, according to WMCAactionnews5.
The crash occurred on Highway 72 in the area of Whippoorwill Road in Walnut.
According to the Benton County Emergency Management, they are working a school bus accident with injuries.
It is not clear how many people were hurt, however, some children were taken from the scene by helicopters, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
No other vehicles were involved.
