HAMILTON, OH. (THECOUNT) — Martin Tyler Ritchie and Matthew Benjamin Ferris, have been identified as the victims in a Monday night murder-suicide, according to Ohio officials.

Ritchie, 31, was found shot to death after police responded to a call of shots fired at a residence in the 900 block of Millville Avenue in Hamilton just after 7 p.m. Ritchie’s death was ruled a homicide.

Ferris, 23, was identified as the suspected shooter.

A BOLO was issued for Ferris’ vehicle, and it was spotted in the 1400 block of Boyle Road in Hanover Twp., by a Butler County Sheriff’s deputy, according to reports.

When police approached the vehicle, Ferris fatally shot himself in the head. His death has been ruled a suicide.

Early information indicates Ferris shot his sister’s boyfriend at the Hamilton residence before fleeing. The sister called 911.

Officials are calling the fatal incident domestic related, according to JournalNews.

Autopsies are expected to be performed Tuesday at the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
