ALHAMBRA, CA. (THECOUNT) — The suspect accused of shooting an Alhambra police officer has been identified as Rhett Nelson.
Nelson, 30, of Utah, was taken into custody after a brief Long Beach police chase.

Officer Joseph Gilbert Solano remains on life support at an area hospital.
Officials said Nelson had also shot and killed another unidentified person earlier in the day.
The shooting appears to be random, according to Alhambra police.
