DALLAS, TX. (THECOUNT) — The Dallas apartment of UFC fighter Macy Chiasson was destroyed during Monday’s massive construction crane collapse.

Chiasson barely escaped her Dallas apartment along with her dog after a crane collapsed on the building Monday during a 71 MPH wind gust that toppled the crane.

Macy said she and her dog escaped the collapsing crane’s path with “seconds to spare.”

The fighter said the crane was in place for new construction adjacent to her building and that the equipment “blew over backward,” when a severe storm struck Monday.

Chiasson said the skills of her sport of quick thinking helped her in fleeing the collision.

Macy says she knew something horrible had gone wrong after hearing a loud “boom,” and then floors collapsing above her first floor apartment. She grabbed her dog and ran out the door … stumbling into the lobby to find neighbors covered in blood and debris.

The accident’s still under investigation but the crane companies came under scrutiny because the crane’s supposed to withstand 95 MPH winds. Winds gusted as high as 71 MPH. Video showing the crane coming down shows another nearby crane remain stable.

Macy tells TMZ she literally lost everything … including her birth certificate, passport and ID.

Chiasson is currently training in Dallas for the UFC. She will return to New Orleans to replace personal items and her identification.
