LOS ANGELES, CA. (THECOUNT) — Director John Singleton has died after suffering a major stroke more than a week ago, according to court documents filed by the filmmaker’s mother in which she seeks conservatorship.
According to FOX4 Kansas City, Singleton died as of Monday morning.

Despite multiple reports, TMZ is reporting, Singleton is still alive as of Monday morning, adding, “it does not look good.”
John’s publicist told TMZ the famed director is alive and on life support at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. We’re told John is still in a medically-induced coma and is unresponsive and not getting better.
According to sources, John Singleton, film director, screenwriter, and producer best known for directing “Boyz n the Hood” for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director, has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke.
His condition is unknown at this time, but those familiar with the situation, like lovebscott who broke the story, are asking for prayers for the movie maker.
More recently, Singleton produced films include dramas such as Rosewood (1997) in addition to action films such as Shaft (2000), 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), and Four Brothers (2005). He recently co-created the crime drama Snowfall, according to wikipedia.
