FALL RIVER, MA. (THECOUNT) — A family member was returning 94-year-old Robert Forcier to his home when he was run over while attempting to exit the vehicle on Newhall Street in Fall River MA Saturday.

Police say, Forcier was exiting an SUV Saturday afternoon operated by a 65-year-old female family member, when the driver quickly exited the vehicle to assist Forcier, failing to engage the vehicle’s parking brake.

The Chevy Equinox then rolled over both people, severely injuring the driver and fatally striking Forcier.

Both the driver and Forcier were knocked to the ground by their opened doors as the SUV rolled down the driveway.

The victims were rushed to St. Ann Hospital, where Forcier was later pronounced dead.

The driver suffered injuries to her hand and arm that are considered severe, reports Boston.CBS.
