NEWPORT NEWS, VA. (THECOUNT) — Newport News, Virginia Police identified Jocelyn Frazier, of Hampton, as the woman shot and killed outside a Boost Mobile store Thursday by her ex-boyfriend Maya Frye.
Frye, 41, was arrested in connection to the shooting death of Frazier, 26, and is charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

He was taken into custody at 10:44 p.m. at a Walmart in Suffolk, reports WKBW.
Police said Frye shot and killed Frazier who was was reportedly Frye’s ex-girlfriend.
Police were called to reports of shots fired around 4:59 p.m. in the 6100 block of Jefferson Avenue, in Newport News, VA.
Upon arrival, officials found Frazier suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
She was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot injuries.
Newport News Police Chief Steve Drew said there had been some sort of fight in the parking lot just before the shooting.
Witnesses at the scene worked diligently with detectives in helping to identify the suspect, police said in a news release.
The investigation is ongoing.
