LAKE CHARLES, LA. (THECOUNT) — Juston Joseph Landry, of Lake Charles, has been identified as the victim in a Lake Charles police-involved shooting Friday.

Landry, 26, was shot and killed in an officer-involved shooting early Friday morning near the intersection of Martin Luther King Hwy. and Pineview Street, according to troopers.

The officer involved was responding to a complaint of a subject threatening someone with a gun when the fatal shooting occurred

According to a preliminary investigation, Landry was threatening another male with a gun came while at the RaceWay gas station on Martin Luther King Hwy.

The officer located Landry about a block away and “at some point during the encounter discharged his weapon striking the subject.” source

Landry was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

No officers were injured in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
