WELCHES, OR. (THECOUNT) — Missing Gresham, OR, woman, Diana Bober, identified by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office as the body found off a hiking trail near Mount Hood Monday, died of injuries consistent with a suspected cougar attack, the coroner said Tuesday.
This would be the first recorded fatal cougar attack in Oregon history, according to qfox13.

Bober, 55, was last seen Aug. 29 and reported missing Sept. 7. Her vehicle was located by deputies at the Zigzag Ranger station, which is located about two miles northeast of where her body was found Monday.

Deputies said Monday they found a female body while searching for Bober, but did not immediately identify the body. They later said the search had ended at that no foul play is suspected.
Deputies did not provide any additional details but said they would provide updates later Tuesday afternoon.
