Pastor Garry Evans, was taken into custody after Rushville Police say he molested at least three young girls at an area church.
According to a release from Rushville Police, Evans, 72, was arrested on a warrant for three counts of Child Molesting, a Level 4 Felony; four counts of Sexual Battery, a Level 5 Felony; and five counts of Child Solicitation, a Level 6 Felony.

When he was arrested, Evans was Pastor of Baptist Temple at 1335 N. Spencer Street in Rushville.
Court documents allege the molesting took place at this Rushville church in September, 2017. According to probable cause affidavit filed with Rush County Superior Court, three girls ranging in age from 3 to 7 years old told investigators that Evans brought them to his office at the church to give them candy, and touched their genital area or had them touch his genitals. The incidents happened during the month of September, 2017. source
Parents told investigators that the families were members of Evans’ congregation.
A 3-year-old girl told investigators that Evans asked her not tell anyone after he had her fondle him.
Evans is currently held without bond at the Rush County Jail.
