Hasselbeck, 37, admitted the brief illness was “a bit of a scare.”

“I had a tumor in my abdomen, doctors said, ‘You gotta get it out by the end of the month, we don’t like how it looks,'” she said. So, Hasselbeck did what the doctors told her to do and had it removed. She’s been away from the show for the better part of a month. “I had a scary week, where we didn’t know what the results were, but I’m okay, everything came back okay,” she continued. “Surgery is not fun, but … thankfully I had the blessing of it not being cancer.” h/t abcnews
Hasselbeck said the scare forced her and her husband Tim Hasselbeck to have serious talks at home and talks with her kids.
“So many women and people that I know have stared down the barrel of that cancer gun,” she added. “When they got bad news … and done remarkable things, courageously to fight it. So, I knew that if I got that side of news, I would be in their wings.”
