WASHINGTON, D.C. (THECOUNT) — Bryon Noem, the husband of former U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, is drawing national attention following the emergence of controversial reports involving his personal life.
The renewed focus on Bryon Noem comes after a report published by the Daily Mail alleged that he was photographed wearing women’s clothing and had spent tens of thousands of dollars interacting with online fetish models. The report claims expenditures totaling at least $25,000.

The allegations have not been independently verified, however, a representative for Kristi Noem responded to the claims in a statement to the New York Post, saying the family was “blindsided” by the reports and is requesting privacy. No additional official comment has been released publicly by Bryon Noem.
Bryon Noem, a South Dakota-based businessman, has been married to Kristi Noem for more than three decades. The couple wed on May 23, 1992, and share three children: Kassidy, Kennedy, and Booker. Both Bryon and Kristi grew up in Hamlin County, South Dakota, and began their relationship during their youth, eventually building a life centered around agriculture and family business.
In the early years of their marriage, the couple worked together on Kristi Noem’s family farm and ranch following the death of her father in 1994. The family operation included raising cattle and growing crops such as corn, soybeans, and wheat. Bryon Noem was actively involved in managing the agricultural business alongside Kristi and her relatives during that period.
After approximately a decade in farming, Bryon Noem transitioned into the insurance industry. In 2003, he accepted a position managing an insurance agency affiliated with a local bank in South Dakota. He later purchased the agency in 2010 and continues to operate it under the name Noem Insurance.
Despite his wife’s high-profile political career—including her tenure as governor of South Dakota and subsequent appointment as Secretary of Homeland Security—Bryon Noem has largely remained outside of public office, maintaining a private professional life in business.
The latest controversy involving Bryon Noem surfaces amid a broader period of scrutiny for Kristi Noem. Earlier in March, she testified before the House Judiciary Committee, where she was questioned about allegations of a past affair with political operative Corey Lewandowski. She dismissed the line of questioning as “garbage” and has previously denied the allegations.
Kristi Noem departed her role as Secretary of Homeland Security on March 24, 2026. She was replaced by Markwayne Mullin. Her tenure in the role followed her appointment to the position in 2025.
No law enforcement agencies have announced any investigation related to the claims involving Bryon Noem, and no charges have been reported. As of now, the situation remains limited to media reporting and statements from representatives.
Further updates may be provided as additional information becomes available.
