DURHAM, NC. (THECOUNT) — Tevin Burney, 23, and Jarrett Godfrey, 26, were found shot dead inside a car Friday night at the Regency Place Apartments on the 3500 block of North Roxboro Street in Durham, North Carolina, police said.
Burney, of Durham, was pronounced dead at the scene after officers responded to reports of gunfire at the Regency Place Apartments located on the 3500 block of North Roxboro Street shortly before midnight Friday. Godfrey, also of Durham, was likewise found suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Burney was 23 years old.
Godfrey was 26 years old.
According to the Durham Police Department, officers arrived at the apartment complex after receiving calls reporting a shooting and discovered the two men inside a vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims were determined to have died from their injuries.
Investigators said a woman was also found inside the vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities stated her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
The incident is being investigated as a triple shooting. Detectives have not publicly released information regarding a possible suspect or motive as the investigation continues.
The shooting occurred at the Regency Place Apartments along North Roxboro Street, a major roadway that runs through northern Durham and connects several residential areas with commercial corridors. Police maintained a presence in the area following the incident as investigators worked to document the scene and collect evidence.
Officials have not released further details regarding the events that led up to the shooting, and it remains unclear whether the victims and the injured woman were targeted or if other individuals may have been involved.
