HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ. (THECOUNT) — Chadd Lackey, executive director of the State Commission of Investigation (SCI), was identified as the victim of an early Wednesday morning fatal accident on Route 130 in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.
Lackey, a resident of Voorhees, was involved in the crash that occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m. on July 10. The incident happened when a 2020 Honda Accord, driven by a 51-year-old female from Bordentown, was traveling southbound on Route 130 near Klockner Road. Upon entering the intersection, the Honda struck a 2020 Ford Edge SUV driven by Lackey, who had a 44-year-old female passenger from Hamilton. They were traveling eastbound from Klockner Road.

Local residents who witnessed the accident shared their observations on social media, describing the scene with comments such as “The cars were mangled” and “Both cars were destroyed in this accident.”
The Hamilton Police Division (HPD) reported that all three individuals were transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center.
Lackey succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Prior to working at the SCI, Lackey was an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, Florida where he founded and managed the Community Prosecutions Unit. Lackey was a graduate of Northwood University and earned his law degree from Temple University School of Law.
The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
