GWINNETT COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — Felipe Velasco, of Lilburn, Georgia, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday fatal shooting in Gwinnett County. Miguel Rodriguez has been identified as the suspect sought by police in connection to the fatal incident.

Velasco, 45, was found fatally shot at a Lilburn residence early Saturday morning. Police in Gwinnett are searching for 19-year-old Rodriguez, who is wanted on an open warrant for felony murder and aggravated assault.

According to reports, officers responded to 1446 Fox Forest Court SW in Lilburn, on a call of shots fired around 12:40 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, Velasco was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Velasco, who recently lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

Police say that Rodriguez is known to drive a Jeep Wrangler with Georgia tag XEG482.

Gwinnett Police believe the motive of the shooting was “domestic-related.”
