JEFFERSON COUNTY, KY. (THECOUNT) — Doug Marbry, of Louisville, Kentucky, has been identified as the suspect arrested following a thursday night fatal vehicle crash in Jefferson County.

Marbry, 59, was arrested and charged with murder, operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, failure of owner to maintain required insurance and no registration plates Thursday night in Louisville.

According to reports, Marbry was operating a vehicle on Interstate 264 in Louisville, when the vehicle came into rear-end contact with a second vehicle around 10 p.m. Thursday.

An individual in the second involved vehicle was transported to an area hospital where that person died of injuries suffered in the crash.

According to investigators, Marbry’s breath had a “strong odor” of alcohol. He admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the day, however, could not maintain balance during instruction.

Officials will collect blood samples and a breathalyzer test was administered.

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
