MIDDLESEX COUNTY, CT. (THECOUNT) — Kimede Mustafaj, of Manchester, Connecticut, has been identified as the wrong-way driver in an overnight crash that killed State Rep. Quentin “Q” Williams in Middlesex County.
Williams, 39, (pictured,) was killed in a wrong-way crash involving 27-year-old Mustafaj early Thursday morning in Cromwell.

According to reports, Mustafaj was operating a vehicle the wrong-way on on Route 9 near Exit 18 in Cromwell, when the vehicle came into head-on contact with a vehicle operated by Williams around 1 a.m. Thursday. Both vehicles then burst into flames.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma and thermal injuries.
Williams was sworn in for his third term in office Wednesday and appointed to serve as co-chair of the legislature’s labor committee.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
