DES MOINES, IA. (THECOUNT) — Danielle Remily and Emma Parker, both of Des Moines, Iowa, have been identified as the victims in a double-fatal attempted murder-suicide in Des Moines on Monday.

Remily, 47, and her daughter, Parker, were both shot dead in their home at, 2616 53rd Street in Des Moines, early Monday by a suspect who was then injured by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to reports, police received a 911 call from an individual who claimed he had fatally shot two women around 3 a.m. Monday morning. The individual then stated he was walking toward a park to commit suicide.

When officers arrived, they located a male suspect suffering from gunshot injuries. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Both women were pronounced dead of gunshot injuries at the scene.

Police indicated there may have been a prior relationship between the suspect and one of the victims. Officers are still looking for a motive.
